Columbia Gorge Sunrise - Panther Creek Falls - Dougan Falls

Panther Creek Falls, Washington

Join me for a half-day photography workshop exploring some of the most breathtaking spots in the Columbia River Gorge and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I’ll pick you up from Downtown Portland or Beaverton early in the morning, and we’ll start our adventure with a sunrise shoot, followed by visits to two stunning waterfalls: Panther Creek Falls and Dougan Falls.

Itinerary

1. Sunrise at Women’s Forum Overlook
Our first stop is the iconic Women’s Forum Overlook, where we’ll capture the sun rising over Vista House and the Columbia River Gorge. It’s a magical scene with soft morning light illuminating the landscape—a must-have shot for any nature photography enthusiast.

2. Panther Creek Falls
From there, we’ll drive across the Bridge of the Gods into Washington to visit Panther Creek Falls, a mesmerizing 130-foot waterfall that flows into multiple tiers. It’s a short walk to reach the viewing platform, where we’ll take time to frame and capture this stunning natural wonder.

3. Dougan Falls
Our final stop is Dougan Falls, a wide, cascading waterfall with picturesque pools surrounded by lush forest. This spot offers unique opportunities for long-exposure shots and serene nature photography. After soaking in the beauty of Dougan Falls, we’ll head back to Portland.

Additional Highlights

  • Enjoy the scenic drive through Gifford Pinchot National Forest, with plenty of opportunities to stop for spontaneous shots of beautiful fall foliage or misty forest scenes.

  • I’ll share tips and guidance on capturing waterfalls and landscapes, making it a great experience for photographers of all levels.
